I would just like to say how much I enjoyed the course last week. I have come back into work this morning feeling mentally refreshed and ready for action with all the tips!

Office Etiquette

posted on: July 14th, 2010
We all enjoy our personal space, but in an office environment it's all too easy for boundaries to be breeched, heckles raised and feathers ruffled. Bad manners can set a dire tone and degrade relations between all levels of staff.

A PA training course helps you to manage these counterproductive issues as they arise. PA training no longer means simply typing, filing and so on (although the classic minute taking course is still highly sought after) but provides you with the diplomatic skills to maintain a healthy office disposition.

The Private Life of the Desk

The desk is likely to be the only private, personalised space in the office for the majority of workers. Avoid being gratuitously critical of personalised desk space. Steer clear of borrowing or moving items without asking, as it shows a total lack of respect!

Volume Control

Be mindful of the noise you and your work processes create in the office – how loud is the ring on your desk phone? Do you speak louder unnecessarily when on the phone? How loud are the sound effects on your computer? If you listen to music through speakers or headphones at work, be watchful of irritating fellow staff – it’s hard to concentrate through the distant, miscellaneous thump of rhythm from noisy headphones.

Tidy Up
Subsequent to attending one of our PA courses, a good PA will identify instantly why cleanliness and tidiness are crucial in the workplace. Do your bit to keep shared kitchens free from dirty dishes and unsightly food mess!
