Top Tips

To be a good PA is to embark upon a career, not just a job. To further your career as a PA, the best advice we can give you is to enrol on one of our PA training courses to evolve your skill set. Thinking of attending a minute taking course? Well that’s just the tip of our giant, well-organised iceberg! On our PA courses you’ll develop your communication, diplomacy, time management, project management, stress-relief and presentation skills amongst many more.

Here are our top quick-tips for every PA:

1. Get to know you boss better. Sound obvious? Well it’s a common pitfall to assume your boss will inform you of everything he or she requires. Every boss has their own (occasionally peculiar) way of doing things. If you’re going to support your boss with efficiency and reliability it’s key to understand their needs thoroughly

2. Be friendly to other staff. Don’t be the impassable demon PA, holding the reign of access to their boss so tightly! A contemporary PA understands that a friendly favour here and there will ensure helpful payback is at hand in the future

3. Brush up on your communication. Body language (including clothes), the way you speak and so on are linked emphatically to people’s perceptions of you. For example, when speaking try to eliminate unnecessary words, speak clearly, and at a reasonable pace and volume. Be concise – nothing annoys busy people more than poorly relayed, wandering statements

The best PAs are well-trained and skilled to the hilt. A PA course will distinguish you to even the most fickle boss!
