I would just like to say how much I enjoyed the course last week. I have come back into work this morning feeling mentally refreshed and ready for action with all the tips!
I have had my weekly meeting this morning with my manager who is also very keen to put into practice some of the things I learnt. I am under instruction to turn off his email alert and set up rules to ‘file’ emails that he is cc’d on.
Kind regards

Hi Paul, (Am sending this again to send round to the others as well if that's OK! PS - All. Paul says he'll use un-salted peanuts from now on!!)
Just to say thanks for a really fun and memorable couple of days! We feel that we have really learnt some good things and lots more for food for thought! Some of your techniques are very good! We were very lucky with the weather, weren't we - so lovely to see Regent's Park like that and a lovely idea of yours to feed the ducks and squirrels - thankyou! Just one suggestion though - maybe it's better to use unsalted peanuts for the squirrels to help their arteries!!
These courses are also a very good opportunity for helping you to take stock, re-assess the way you do things and just get a bit of space to think about it all a bit more objectively! And also in this case in a lovely setting too. Really good! And am using my notebook too!
Many thanks again.
Kind Regards

Hi everyone
I'm feeling very proud of myself, I've gone the whole week since the course without using a single post it note or having loads of electronic reminders appearing every 2 minutes for various things. This is something of a major miracle for me as my desk (and every other available surface) was usually covered in them. All these things are now in my notebook/tasks.
Another major event was to remove the automatic alert that lets you know when an email has arrived - this has taken away the temptation just to look and see what it coming in - which enevitably detracts you from what you were doing at the time. I'm trying not to let emails rule the day.
The course has definitely made me think more about what I do and how I do it, and have the confidence to try to change things instead of just continuing in the same 'rut'.
Lunch breaks have improved too - I've actually had some!!!!!!

Morning Paul,
Just to say a very big thank-you for the course - we all thoroughly enjoyed it, and from my perspective it was the best training I have seen delivered! We are busy putting it into practice! I'm currently categorising outlook.............!
Best Wishes,

Hello!
My Manager was very impressed with how assertive I am; I tried the broken record approach with other people and it works too, just back off.
Also I love throwing in the word ‘My priorities right now are with my Director’ – it's getting odd reactions from people (they probably think I am ice cold now!), I sound much more official!! Had a 1:1 with boss first thing today and told him that I am here to manage him, taking everything I have learnt in,
Let me know what else you guys have tried!!!

Dear Paul
Firstly, thank you for sending me my tasks for today.
I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for changing the way that I view my career, I came into the Regents college on Monday morning thinking I had little control on what happened from 8am on a Monday morning until 6pm on a Friday evening every week and I expected to leave the college after the course having learnt a bit on how to manage my time a little better and I would have been satisfied.
However I walked out of the Regents college on Tuesday afternoon feeling more confident, empowered, motivated, less stressed and competent than I have ever felt and not just in terms of my day to day work life but on a personal level also. I could not wait to get into the office today and start catergorising Outlook!! I have already set up a training session in the new year to pass on the Outlook tips to everyone else in my office..... it really is invaluable information.
The chance to meet all of the other PA's and the interaction throughout the 2 days was amazing, myself and a few others were extremely disappointed to not be coming back on Wednesday for another day, we all said we could of spent the week listening to more of what you had to say. I am so looking forward to the lunch.
The course material covered was just perfect for what I wanted to get out of the course, I literally couldn't have asked for more. It was worth the course fee's twice over. I was so impressed with you Paul I really was!
I think I mentioned before but we have just been acquired by Sigma Aldrich and I have passed on your details to the HR department at the Head Office in Poole and I have emailed the Science Park website to post a recommendation for your company, I hope more PA's get the opportunity to come along to one of your courses and take away as much as I have.
I hope you have a great Christmas and a very happy new year.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the lunch

The course has made a big difference to me, even more so than I thought. The broken record was a great piece of advise and Ive ben putting it into practice alot. I'm also finding I'm even holding myself differently.
Being a 'less experienced' PA, I have previously been walked over by other PA's and even my Directors without knowing it. The course has bought my confidence out and knowing that I CAN be assertive (that poor stationery boy!) and take control of my working day life, both with my bosses and with the people I work with, is very rewarding.
I've tried the 'hair up' but sorry, no joy!
A great course. The lunch break in Regent's park was a fabulous touch,
Thanks Paul, look forward to January.

Hi Paul and fellow PA's
Well what a difference the course has made to my working life. I feel so energised, confident and asking people if they can come back really does work, they don't!!!!
I take my note book everywhere with me. I am about to get my desk repositioned so that I am not facing people. I am also leaving pretty much on time and taking lunch breaks (not everyday but most days) and not feeling guilty for that.
The outlook tip to put an email straight into a diary appointment is fantastic, use it all the time.
All in all a fantastic course, I will never forget the paper aeroplane exercise and listen more now than just assume I know what is being said.
Really looking forward to meeting up with you all again in the New Year for the Minute Taking Course.
Merry Christmas everyone.
Regards/Mit freundlichen Grüßen

Hi everyone
Yes, I agree with the confidence aspect most of all. Although I haven't been in the office much this week, I feel more energetic and confident in dealing with my bosses. After speaking to my No 1 boss, he was keen to get a slot in his diary with me to sit down and run through anyway we can improve how we work! I just need to sit down now and try and work out what aspects of all the information we were given will work best in my environment.
I have spoken to a couple of my colleagues too and they are happy to have my phone for short periods in order for me to be able to get my head down(carry out my weekly review etc) and of course I will do the same in return.
And yes, yes, yes, I used the Broken Record first thing on Monday morning - WITHOUT having to say sorry too and it worked!!!
So thank you Paul, Pam and all the girls. I look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Dear Paul:
Got started on organizing emails more efficiently now, as I have been creating folders and sorting through. Phew!!! Thx for the tip. Working out great so far. Just had to go looking for 3 email and got them so quickly.
Thx…Looking into sorting out the time management thingies now…
Thanks again , the course was great, actually we were just speaking about it to our other colleague Sandra, as we both agreed it was an effective course…
At least we don’t have to deal with JOHN!!!!
Best Regards and have a good morning, well afternoon.

Many Thanks for two fantastic days training. I have learnt so much and am really keen to continue to learning and improving myself now. The team were great and I think we were lucky to get a group that bonded and worked so well. I look forward to keeping in touch with them all and hearing of their pay rises!

Training – excellent. The course really brought everything together for the role of a PA which was excellent. It covered everything that I expected and more. I will use your company again, you were brilliant! Thanks.

Just wanted to let you know how well the course benefited me. First thing on Monday mornings I have to minute a news team meeting. I had been struggling up until this Monday morning. I went into the meeting, confident and prepared to put all my new information to use....guess what? It worked really well. Usually it takes me the whole day to put the notes and action points together for the staff, this time I was finished by lunchtime! What about that!
Thanks for presenting such a helpful and useful course, I have already been recommending the course to my other colleagues and have put the word out to the other PA’s about the course in September.

Before Today's PA I felt insecure, lost and unsure of what my job was all about. Taking part in the course has completely changed my work life around. It's given me confidence, re-assurance and the tools of power to cast great influence on my working environment - in short, I now feel empowered!

Hi Paul,
I would like to thank you for the course, I can honestly say I don't think I have ever enjoyed one as much as this. The pace was very good and subjects covered really helpful. Of course it does help when the other trainees are friendly and everyone last week were lovely.
I'm still plodding away with my improvements and will be meeting my boss later today to discuss the filing system. He claimed he's been trying to get me round to this way of thinking for ages - personally I think he's making it up! I told him he should reconsider leaving now I'm becoming so much more efficient.......
Keep up the good work and take care - have a good weekend.

I'll sum up what's been working for me:
Broken record technique (love it, love it, love it) closed door policy for my boss when he has deadlines to meet (managed to convince him it was a good idea!) the 10 second delay to looking up from my screen when someone is hovering by my desk The 'can it wait 20 minutes, I'm just in the middle of something' line - GENIUS
Finally, I have convinced my boss about the team cover idea (i.e. team covers your phone and any queries for 1 hour per week, so you can get stuff done)
Thanks Paul! All of these are working for me!
Hope you're well, let me know if there's any update to your potential Gibraltar visit.

These courses are tailor-made to hit the mark with experienced PA’s and those who are new to the job. The training is a mix of real life experiences and innovative training techniques alongside tried and tested methods. Participants leave with a real sense of achievement and an action plan to do things differently as soon as they return to the office. I wish I had this course at the beginning of my career.
Would recommend the course to any PAs. I had been searching for a good PA course - this was just right. It covered all the points I hoped it would. I really enjoyed the course and will definitely be putting the ideas into practice. Great trainer and great materials.
Reese Sansom - Girlguiding UK
learn a few new tricks or you’re looking to get your first PA role, I would highly recommend the ‘Today’s PA’ training course. It is full of practical tips and advice as well as assertiveness exercises and is a great confidence booster. I came away with the belief that I should be earning more money and, more importantly, the confidence to ask my boss to pay me more money; a conversation that I’m pleased to report went very well indeed!

Lovely venue, relaxed and enjoyable training session, extremely well delivered. I felt much more confident, and prepared to tackle the toughest of meetings!

Good afternoon Paul
I just wanted to write a brief thank you note for the presentation which you gave yesterday at the Hilton. My daughter, Jane, and I knew what was to come and we were not disappointed but my colleague, Julie, had not met you before and attended purely on my recommendation and she, too, was not disappointed. We all came away having learnt something. The hard part now is putting into practice what we are preaching! I know from talking with the other ladies that they also had a very enjoyable and educational evening.
Thank you for your company, and for your inspirational help. I wish you all the very best with Indiquo.
Kind regards.

Paul
Thank you for a very interesting and informative course over the last two days. I have come into the office this morning and have immediately put some of your tips into action. I am sure over the next few days and months I will be checking my handout to refresh my mind about other useful 'handy hints' to help me help my Directror's working day more efficient which, as you rightly point out, is what our roles are all about.
Thanks again for the clear information, concise handout, squeezy calmers & feeding duck walks.
Regards
